100 schools in Delhi and at least two schools in Noida received a bomb threat via email
The Police officials said that Panic gripped schools in the national capital of India after about 100 of them received bomb threats here on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 morning.
Nearly 100 schools in both Delhi and Noida received emails threatening a bomb attack on Wednesday in early morning. The Delhi and Noida police are currently conducting searches with bomb disposal and dog squads, and have evacuated the premises.
The Delhi Police have revealed that the email used to threaten over 80 Delhi-NCR schools in the early hours of Wednesday contained the word 'Swaraiim', which is an Arabic word used by the Islamic State since 2014. As per the sources, the email ID from which Delhi NCR schools were sent the threat letter is 'sawariim@mail.ru.' The investigation so far has revealed that 'Sawariim' (clashing of the swords) is an Arabic word, that has been used by the Islamic State since 2014 to spread Islamist propaganda. According to sources, the Delhi Police is investigating if there is a conspiracy by any organisation behind these threatening emails.
