Tourism of Delhi who Organises Heritage Walks At the 50 Places



 Tourism of Delhi department is organising heritage walks at the 50 different locations across the capital from Saturday. These walks will continue till March 31 with the first inaugural walk was scheduled at Mehrauli Archaeological Park.




According to the Delhi tourism department’s website, Mehrauli Archaeological Park, which is uniquely dotted with ruins from early medieval times to the 19th century, is one of the most popular heritage sites in our capital city.


The major attractions at Mehrauli Archaeological Park will includes the mosque and tomb of Jamali, a royal tomb which is the first building in the subcontinent to use the true arch, a beautiful step well with subterranean rooms and residence of a British official (which was built out of a tomb). This site is adjacent to another historically important place, the Qutub complex.


 Other popular places include Hauz Khas & Deer Park, Jahanpanah & Begumpur, Lodhi Garden, Tughlaqabad and Kotla Feroz Shah.
