 Today , Stock Market : Nifty 50 and BSE sensex, The Indian criterion indices, witnessed a positive start to the week on Monday. When BSE sensex soared over 1,000 points to cross the 71,600 mark again and Nifty 50 was above 21,600. This week is expected to have significant market- moving events with the Budget of the new year 2024 being the major highlight.

Around 12:30 AM, BSE sensex was trading at 71,684.57 up over 980 points at 1.39% Nifty 50 was at 21,659.70 up over 300 points or 1.44%. The majority of Nifty stock traded in the green, with ONGC, Adani Enterprises, SBI life, HDFC Bank and Sun pharmaceuticals merged as the top gainers, while Cipla, Dr. Reddy's laboratories, Bajaj Auto and ITC experienced losses , according to an ET report.
